Explore, Create, and Connect
At Maison des jeunes de Saint-Augustin (Dalmas), no two days are exactly alike. Our programming is diverse, dynamic, and largely driven by the interests of our members. Whether you want to learn a new skill, join a team, or just relax with friends, there is something here for you.
Most of our activities are free or offered at a very low cost to ensure accessibility for all youth in Saint-Augustin.

1. The “Drop-In” (Le Salon)
The heart of our house.
This is our open space where youth can come and go freely during opening hours. It’s a safe alternative to hanging out on the streets.
- Gaming Zone: PlayStation/Xbox consoles, high-speed Wi-Fi, and PC stations.
- Recreation: Billiards (Pool), Ping-Pong, and Foosball tables.
- Board Games: A huge collection of classic and modern board games.
- Chill Area: Comfortable couches for chatting, reading, or listening to music.
2. Workshops & Skill Building
Learning by doing.
We organize weekly workshops designed to boost confidence and teach practical life skills.
- Community Kitchen: Learn to cook healthy, budget-friendly meals. We cook together, and we eat together!
- Art & Culture: DIY crafts, painting, music workshops, and photography.
- Homework Support: A quiet space and assistance for students who need help with school assignments.
- Job Readiness: Help with writing the first CV (resume) and preparing for job interviews.
3. Outdoor & Seasonal Activities
Get moving and explore Quebec.
Located on Rue des Loisirs, we take full advantage of our surroundings.
- Sports: Basketball, soccer, and volleyball tournaments.
- Summer Outings: Camping trips, visits to La Ronde, water parks, and hiking.
- Winter Fun: Skating, snowshoeing, and movie marathons with hot cocoa.
4. Prevention & Awareness
Growing up smart.
We provide a safe space to discuss the real issues teenagers face today. Our trained animators facilitate open, non-judgmental discussions on topics such as:
- Mental health and stress management.
- Internet safety and cyberbullying.
- Healthy relationships and consent.
- Drug and alcohol awareness.
5. The Youth Committee (Comité des jeunes)
Your voice matters.
We believe the MDJ belongs to the youth. Members can join the Youth Committee to:
- Vote on future activities and outings.
- Manage a budget for special projects.
- Organize fundraising events for the community.
