Our Mission
Our primary mission is to provide a safe, supervised, and lively meeting place for local youth. We aim to support teenagers in becoming critical, active, and responsible citizens.
Responsible: We empower youth to make their own choices and lead their own projects.
Critical: We encourage independent thinking and open dialogue.
Active: We promote physical activity, creativity, and community involvement.

Our Core Values
Everything we do at the MDJ (Maison des jeunes) is guided by these principles:
Youth Leadership: We don’t just plan activities for the youth; we plan with them. The members of the MDJ have a direct say in the programming and rules of the house.
Voluntary Participation: Youth come here because they want to, not because they have to. This ensures an atmosphere of genuine engagement and enthusiasm.
Respect & Inclusion: Our doors are open to everyone. We foster an environment free from judgment, bullying, or discrimination.
Who We Are
Maison des jeunes de Saint-Augustin (Dalmas) is a registered non-profit organization and a recognized charity in Canada (Registered Charity Number: 828843110 RR 0001 ) . We operate under the guidance of a volunteer Board of Directors composed of community members and parents who care deeply about the well-being of our youth.
Our center is staffed by a dedicated team of Youth Interveners (Animators). These are trained professionals and mentors who are experts in:
- Active listening and counseling.
- Conflict resolution.
- Organizing recreational and educational workshops.
They are the “big brothers and sisters” who ensure the space remains safe, fun, and supportive at all times.

Rooted in the Dalmas community, we have served generations of teenagers. Over the years, we have evolved from a simple gathering spot into a dynamic resource center that connects youth with their community. From organizing local festivals to cleaning up neighborhood parks, the “MDJ” is a vital part of the Saint-Augustin ecosystem.
